My 'off' command doesn't work either.
Are the UK consoles any different at all?
Thanks in advance.

If you are using a Harmony remote this is most likely a problem with the remote setup.  Go to your PS3 activity and click on settings, then select change options, and click NEXT.   Make sure that "Do Not Send Play", and "Don't Send Stop Command" are selected and then click SAVE.  Click DONE, then go through the steps to update your remote.  This should take care of the problem.  If you still have problems let me know.

If you don't have a Harmony remote let us know what kind of remote you do have.

For help setting up your Harmony remote feel free to send me a PM.

Include your model of remote, inputs settings for your TV, AV Receiver, etc., and any other setup requests.  I will also need your Harmony Login name and password (I recommend changing your password temporarily to 12345).

I installed my first PS3IR-PRO yesterday and could not get the OFF command to respond.
Everything else worked perfectly.
I programmed a client's existing URC MX3000 remote control using the URC database PS2 commands
as indicated in the instruction sheet.
The client purchased the PS3 from a friend.
I don't know how old it is and did not look at the firmware version.
Do I need to do a firmware update on the PS3, change settings as was previously discussed in
this thread or is there an issue with the IR-PRO?

Just to make sure you are setting it up right you are using the codes from this thread right?
http://ps3ir.com/simplemachinesforum/index.php?topic=42.0

Also, you need to make sure you are using the command from Row 18 to turn the PS3 on.

You need to make sure you are using the command from Row 27 to turn the PS3 off.

Also, how are you supplying power to the Pro unit?

Sorry for the delay in responding; thanks for your reply.

I am using the PS2 on/off commands from the URC code library.
I was under the impression that these were the codes since every
other command is from the PS2.

I will update my program to include the Row 18 PS3 on & Row 27 PS3 off
and then let you know my findings.
It will be this Friday before I go back to the client.

I am powering the Pro unit with an iGo 5volt AC powerhead charger model (wallpower8) with an iGo USB adapter.

The Pro unit accepts every command except for the discrete off from
the URC codes library for the PS2

Hi,

my remote is a Philips TSU9600 and I have an IR emitter stuck on the front of the PS3IR-PRO.
The IR emitter is connected to a Philips RFX9600 in my rack. The unit is powered from a seperate usb power connector.
Everything works except the 'off'.
Thanks in advance.

Are you using the command from row 27 like I talked about above?

I just returned to my client and uploaded the new program with the Row 18 PS3 on & Row 27 PS3 off
commands................everything works like a champ!!!!
Thanks for info and clearing up my oversite on this important data.

This is an awesome accessory that I will surely continue to purchase for upgrading my client's PS3
activities.

Glad it was an easy fix.

I am wondering if you would mind sharing the config file you ended up using for the MX3000.  We have tried getting config files for all the different URC models and posting them up for others to use.  If you don't mind just send me the file in a private message and I can post it up.

Here's the forum where we are keeping all of the config files we have receiverd so far.  Feel free to use the other files yourself if you need any of them.

I'd be happy to provide the config file.
It will be a few days before I have the opportunity.
I'll be in touch.
Thanks,

It turns off and then doesn't wanna come on. If I manually turn it on, it then doesn't want to shut down.
I don't get it. It is a hit and miss thing.
