I bought one of these devices to control my PS3. All of the codes work great with the exception of the 'Discrete Off' code, which I'm told by tech support should work. They even verified it was the correct hex code and I do have latest firmware on all my equipment.

Power Off:
0000 0068 0000 0015 0060 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 01C6

I was told to ditch the discrete command and power down the PS3 using a macro made of 'PS>Down>Down>Down>Up>X>X'. This works  but I would still much rather get the Discrete Off code working just for simplicity and to know something isn't wrong with my hardware. Am I the only one that can't get this to work?

Thanks for any help!

What kind of remote are you using?

How are you powering your Pro unit (what is it plugged into)?

For help setting up your Harmony remote feel free to send me a PM.

Include your model of remote, inputs settings for your TV, AV Receiver, etc., and any other setup requests.  I will also need your Harmony Login name and password (I recommend changing your password temporarily to 12345).

The remote is a Pronto TSU9600.
I'm powering the IR-PRO using an AC to USB 5v power adapter.

I just tested another IR-PRO (since I ordered two together) and the second is unresponsive with this code only as well.

Did you try using the .cc file aminchew posted in this thread?

What do you have your AC adapter plugged into?

Are you sending any other commands to the Pro before you send the PowerOff command?  I know with Harmony remotes by default it tries to send the stop command before sending the power off command and that causes problems.

Yes, I have just tried that code and it is unresponsive as well  Sad

A wall outlet (no power conditioner/surge strip). If it was a power issue, other codes would be affected though, right?

No, this is the only code I test. I am only testing the individual codes at the moment, so there are no macros (I only created the Power Off macro as a temporary replacement).

Some people try plugging their AC adapter into something like a AV receiver, not thinking about the fact that the power to those outlets sometimes shuts off when the Receiver shuts off.  So it ends up killing power to the Pro in the middle of the thut down macro and the PS3 doesn't properly get shut down.  This doesn't appear to be your problem though.

Are you making sure that the Pro is turned on and able to move the cursor around in the XMB before you are sending the PowerOff command?  If the Pro isn't on and translating commands, it will just ignore the PowerOff command and it won't send out the shut down macro.

Have you tried updating your firmware again?  I know you said you had the latest firmware, but maybe it got messed up somehow when you were updating it.  I would remove everything from your computer, download the firmware again, and upload it again.

Have you tried a different power supply, and a different USB cable.  We have came across problems before where power supplies and cables have caused very strange issues, this could be one of those times.  If you have a satellite receiver or cable box, a lot of those have USB ports that are powered on all the time and they can be used to power the Pro.

If none of this works I am pretty much stumped.

The PRO does work with the other commands before the Power Off is tried, so it is powering and synching correctly. I have also tried using the port in the back of a Samsung BD player and same thing (this had to be moved because of the constant power issue).

I'm not sure how to check the firmware version, so I was assuming I had the latest firmware since it was just shipped within the last two weeks. I have already tried to update the firmware (since I did originally think this was the problem) and done so unsuccessfully, so that will be a project in itself. I followed the tutorial up to the step where my laptop is supposed to recognize the attached device. I guess I'll give it another go.

Thanks for your quick replies!
