Any hints or directions.

I doubt it. The reasoning is, most people have access to a PC running windows or can boot their mac into windows. And I just don't have the development time to do it. My todo list is long as it is.

Sadly, I don't have access to a Windows PC.  I am all Mac at home and I work at an all Mac company.

I do have Vista running on my Mac under vmware, but have not been able to install the 1.0.9 firmware.  The instructions work perfectly right up to the point that I click "New Program" I get an error message "Error Entering Bootloader Mode".  From that point on, the tool can't even see the usb device until I reboot Windows.

So, before I sink several hours reconfiguring my system to boot directly into Windows, I'd appreciate it if anybody has any hints for me.  In particular:
1) Is this an issue that others are seeing (unrelated to the Mac)
2) Is it due to using Vista rather than XP?

Thanks,

So, it does appear that the Firmware Update tool won't work on Windows running in VMWare Fusion on a Mac.

I was able to reconfigure my Mac to boot directly into Vista, and the Firmware Update proceeded smoothly.

Cheers,

I had the same experience trying to run through VMWare Fusion, for what it's worth.  I'm just glad our laptop has XP on it (since my main desktop is Vista 64) so I didn't have to muck up my wife's Mac. Smiley
