IR Input - Front or Rear but not both
« on: September 12, 2010, 03:45:42 PM »
I have a PSIR-1000 and would like to request a feature upgrade if possible.

Currently the unit can accept IR from the front panel or from the back external JACK, but not both. If auto is selcted, the unit will not accept IR input from the front panel once IR is detected on the rear input.

I would like to have the option to have IR accepted from the external jack on the back and from the front panel - at the same time.

I would like to have my Home Automation system control the unit through the rear external input, while still being able to control the unit from a hand-held remote.

Please let me know if this could be possible in the future.

James,

The immediate workaround for your situation would be to use an IR flasher instead of the IR input on the PS3IR-1000.  This way the device will only use its internal IR sensor, and it can be operated with your home automation system as well as with a regular IR remote.

We will most likely not implement this feature.
