More power problems
« on: March 16, 2010, 01:16:10 AM »
I have just brought a 500,
and I cant get the power off to work,
also any button will power my PS3 on, is there away to disable this?

I am using a Onkyo RC-717m remote (comes with TX-SR806 Receiver)

So far I am disappointed with this product, is there any way to exchange for a 1000?

Please verify that the Discrete Off code is properly programmed into your remote. This code will initiate the Discrete Off macro that will power off your PS3 with a single IR command.

To my knowledge, there is no way to prevent the PS3 from powering on with any remote command. I think this is one of those functions most people think it's a bug, but the manufacturer claims it's a feature. One way go get around that would be to upgrade to the 1000, and use its power sensing feature. That way the PS3 will power on only with Discrete On.

We would be happy to exchange your 500 for a 1000.

Romeo, I am hoping you would consider offering me the same option of exchanging my 500 for the 1000. I would be willing to pay the difference,
Thanks

JVanDruff,

We thought about an upgrade program, and here's what we came up with: If you bought the PS3IR-500 from us, send us your order number or any other information you can provide that will help us verify your purchase. Once we verify it, we will apply half of what you paid for your PS3IR-500 towards your purchase of a PS3IR-1000. There is no need to send us your old PS3IR-500.

In the Harmony database, try the PS3IR-1000 device instead of the PS3IR-500. Also, I can log into your Harmony profile and verify that you have the proper codes programmed.
