Does this utility work on Windows 7.  I get an error when trying to run the utility.  My goal is to be able to turn on/off my PS3 with my Harmony One.  The other functions seem to work.  I just can't turn on the PS3 to listen to music from my computer.

UPDATE:  The utility does NOT work on windows 7 as of 04/01/10.

Hi:
I am having a problem installing the utility software.
I down loaded the software to my local drive.  then I unzipped the file and ran the "ps3ir1kutil.exe". I am getting an installation errors.

I am getting a "Runtime Error.
..\...\...\common\plugin.cpp:7300
Failure Condition:pluginEntryTalble.GetEntry...
Can't find plugin method Bevelbutton.DeleteAllrows    OK   cancel.

I tried this on two pc's runing XP OS.  any idea what is going on. The PS3IR-1000 I purchase does not seem to work. I need to connect to it to see if it  needs any firmware update ..etc.. thank you,

I just recently bought this device from Amazon for the sole purpose of controlling my PlayStation from my computer. I am a disabled person, and being able to use my Windows Speech Recognition to control the PlayStation was a dream come true. Unfortunately, my dream was quickly dashed upon the rocks of reality because every time the computer is shut down and then restarted, the utility software loses all connection with the device. The device literally has to be unplugged and then plugged back in again before the software will see it. Please, can anyone tell me whether there is a workaround for this? I don't want this dream to die without fighting for it.  :(

Have you tried using the virtual controller software?  It's designed specifically for voice recognition software.

Thank you so much for your reply, but that is not my specific issue. The problem I'm having is that the device itself is not being seen by the utility software, or the virtual controller software. It's just as if the device is not plugged in at all, even though it is. You literally have to unplug the device and then plug it back in again before either piece of software will see that it's attached.  ??? Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you need me to troubleshoot anything, I would be more than willing to do so. I have some small amount of experience with beta testing, and although all software is not the same, nor all companies, I would be willing to help in any way that I could. :-)
