I'm hovering over the purchase button, but would like to know how directional the PS3IRX1 is?

I've tried a number of different cheaper IR remote controls with the PS3, and they all suffer from you needing to point the remote directly at the receiver, and more often than not, the command is not even received.

Can you confirm how directional the unit is please?

Cheers, Lee

Actually, our products work just as well or better than any competitor. However, IR technology is such that yes, you do generally need to point your remote in the general direction of the receiver. LOL

IR is line of sight. In general, as you get further from the receiver, you will need to pay more attention to where the remote is pointed. Within 15 feet or so, it's not all that important. In fact, in a home theater environement, the signal will bounce off the side walls or even the rear wall if it is a hard surface. Sunlight will create a situation where you will see the need to point the remote at the receiver even at 10 feet or so. That is just the nature of IR technology.
