Need Help With URC MX-350
« on: December 25, 2008, 09:13:28 AM »
I just got my PS3IR-PRO and can not figure out the first step in the directions: "Setup the universal remote with the standard Sony IR Code set".  Does anyone know how to do this?  I have an MX-350 universal remote and it asks for a 3-digit code for the device.  I do not think that I can program hex code into it and do not have a PS2 remote.  Once I figure out how to program the code set, I should be in good shape.

On page 59 of your manual it has a Game Systems section.  Under there it has a Sony code of 414.  I would try using that code and see what happens.
For help setting up your Harmony remote feel free to send me a PM.

Include your model of remote, inputs settings for your TV, AV Receiver, etc., and any other setup requests.  I will also need your Harmony Login name and password (I recommend changing your password temporarily to 12345).

I tried code 414 and it did not work.  I may have confused you with the model of my remote.  I have an Osiris MX-350.  Here is the link to the manual.

I am going to call the number and find out if they have a code for the PS2 or not.  I'll let you know what I find out.

Sorry, I thought the Osiris MX-350 and URC MX-350 were the same but it does look like they are slightly different.  There is no Game System section in there.  I did notice a Custom Installation Products section though, and it has 3 different Sony codes.  You may want to try them (164, 165, 166) if you haven't already.  If that doesn't work, and calling the help line doesn't turn out, then you will probably need to buy a PS2 controller to learn the codes from.  You should be able to find them pretty cheap used off ebay or at your local game stores like Game Crazy, Game Stop, EB Games, etc.
