PS3IRX1 / Harmony One Eject NO Workie
« on: December 10, 2008, 09:31:55 AM »
Reading through here has enabled me to get the unit to work, and
very smoothly I might add, great product !! Ok, for those of you
who have gotten the Eject functin to work, care to share how you did
it?

I set it up using the PS3 as my DVD playback device after starting
out with PS2, eject didn't work that way either.

Oh and can the PS3IRX1 power the PS3 off ? If so, how so ?

Thanks folks !!

To get the PS3IR-X1 to shut down the PS3 you will have to email Harmony support and ask them to add the following macro to power down your PlayStation 3 device:

DirectionLeft Duration in milliseconds 1000
DirectionUp Duration in milliseconds 500
X
Pause for 500 milliseconds
X

You can play around with the durations after they set it up to get the best results.

As far as eject goes, since there is no eject command on the game controller, the PS3IR-X1 can't send the command out through the USB port.  In order to eject a disc using the PS3IR-X1 you will have to hit the triangle button to bring up the on screen display and then move the cursor to the eject command and do it that way (at least I think that there is an eject command on that menu).
For help setting up your Harmony remote feel free to send me a PM.

Include your model of remote, inputs settings for your TV, AV Receiver, etc., and any other setup requests.  I will also need your Harmony Login name and password (I recommend changing your password temporarily to 12345).
