Power shutdown issue with Harmony
« on: December 06, 2008, 12:09:54 AM »
Quite often when I eject a disk after a movie I power the PS3 off.

But then if I switch to another device or do harmony remote shutdown

It turns PS3 back on.

Can't the power up/down be discrete?

I think the macro is sending a PS button hit to start the shutdown macro and that turns it back on.

I think a macro could be written to not use the PS button that might not turn it on.

Do you have the latest firmware installed on your Pro unit?  If you don't it has a power tracking feature that should help keep this from happening, so you should update to the latest firmware.

If you already have the latest firmware installed then I am going to guess that you are turning the PS3 off by some other means than switching activities or hitting the all off button on your remote.  You can't do that if you expect the power tracking feature to be able to work correctly.  You should only shut the PS3 off using the PowerOff command on your Harmony remote (or by having the Harmony remote automatically send the PowerOff command when you switch activities or hit the all off button).
For help setting up your Harmony remote feel free to send me a PM.

Include your model of remote, inputs settings for your TV, AV Receiver, etc., and any other setup requests.  I will also need your Harmony Login name and password (I recommend changing your password temporarily to 12345).
