MX-800 (on / off)
« on: October 17, 2008, 05:44:00 PM »
So I've integrated the pro unit with a urc MX-800.  I've gotten everything working (thank you Beerstalker for the mxd file you posted) but I can't seem to get an on/off sequence working.  I've seen a number of postings here and on other forums but can't seem to get any of it working.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You shouldn't have to use any sequences to turn the PS3 on or off.  You should only need to use the PowerToggle command to turn it on, and the PowerOff command to turn it off.

Sorry I can't help you out much  more than that.  I am not very familiar with the URC remotes.  I have just been asking other members to send me their config files so I can post them to help other users out.
For help setting up your Harmony remote feel free to send me a PM.

Include your model of remote, inputs settings for your TV, AV Receiver, etc., and any other setup requests.  I will also need your Harmony Login name and password (I recommend changing your password temporarily to 12345).

Are the commands PowerToggle and PowerOff on the actual PS2 remote?   If so are these their name on the remote? I didn't see mention of these specific commands on the pronto spreadsheet so I am a bit confused.  Could you clarify?

Download the Pronto codes list here if you haven't already.
http://ps3ir.com/simplemachinesforum/index.php?topic=42.0

The command to turn on the Pro/PS3 is in row 18.  It is listed as the PS2 function Standby/Off, PS3 function PS.  This command is also used to exit back to the XMB when using the PS3.

The command to turn off the Pro/PS3 is in row 27.  It is listed as the Discrete Off function.

Sorry for the confusion.

I kinda figured the Discrete off kicks off the macro on the PS3IR-Pro...  I assume this code cannot be learned from the PS2 remote?  I don't have the remote to learn from but probably would be willing to buy one if needed.  I will first see if I can import the pronto codes, the mx-810 is goofy though...
