Girder .GML file for use with USB-UIRT
« on: August 18, 2008, 02:10:48 AM »
Anyone have a working .GML file for the Playstation IR codes?  I can't find one and don't have a PS2 remote to learn from.

Thanks!

am i the only one using a PS3IRX1 with girder & a usb-uirt?  just wondering!

in case i'm not, i made a .GML myself in girder 3.3.4 and uploaded it for anyone who wants to use it.  it works great.  it contains all of the remote codes i could capture from a standard sony dvd player remote.  the folder called "ps3 only" contains the buttons i could not get codes for from the standard remote (L1, L2, L3, etc.) but i believe most of them (if not all) are already covered by the codes from the sony remote.

now i can control my ps3 along with my receiver, tv, cable box, dvr, vcr, & winamp, sagetv, vlc media player, and about ten other things all with a standard tivo 'peanut' remote.  sweet.

Sorry nobody was able to help you with the Girder file.  Thank you for posting what you have put together though.

I've never used Girder so I am wondering, can you program it using hex commands or anything like that, or do you have to learn the IR command from the IR receiver?  If you can use hex commands let us know what format and we can try to find you a list of the commands.
For help setting up your Harmony remote feel free to send me a PM.

Include your model of remote, inputs settings for your TV, AV Receiver, etc., and any other setup requests.  I will also need your Harmony Login name and password (I recommend changing your password temporarily to 12345).

it's ok, i figured it out.  the .pdf file i found somewhere on here with the button mapping helped a lot.  girder does accept hex codes OR learning.  i don't really need them at this point but they would have come in handy before so if you've got them you may want to post them or add them to that .pdf for others.

on a side note, i updated my .gml file so it works a little faster & added the shutdown sequence for the ps3.  if anyone wants it let me know & i'll post the updated one.
